Books Are So Tits

breaking-it-up asked: In regards to your fuchsia highlighted book: I once had a book for a linguistics class that when I opened up to the morphemes section every single line was highlighted in neon orange. I could barely read anything, and whats the point of highlighting that much anyways...I mean, morphemes are important but c'mon!

Thank God I’m not alone! Someone should punish people for mistreating books.

Used Textbooks

Sometimes it’s really helpful when people have highlighted passages in textbooks and you’re like, “WOW, you just saved me the trouble of swiping my highlighter across the page! Fuck yeah!!!”.
But other times, you’re reading along and you see something so important and SO essential to the topic at hand but it’s not highlighted. It’s among a sea of white paper and unacknowledged wisdom and you think “WHO THE FUCK READ THIS BOOK LAST? THEY MUST BE A TOTAL FUCKING MORON TO HAVE MISSED THAT!!!”

American Lit

I’m taking an 8 week course in American Lit., discussing many works that are familiar to me, so I thought I would open it up to share with you guys, too.
If I share the work from class, it will be a week late as to never be charged with plagiarism or cheating but I’d like to know what you guys think about them, too.

The first work we’re delving into is Song of Myself by Whitman. Have any of you read this before? Thoughts, feelings, questions, comments or concerns???
